School Counseling Lessons

Academic Success

Lessons will focus on the academic success of all students. The lessons are designed to give students the skills and learning strategies necessary to achieve in all aspects of their academic schooling. The goal is for all students to leave the elementary school counseling program with more positive attitudes of their academics, and the ability to overcome barriers to their academic success.

Personal/Social Development

Lessons will focus on the personal and social development of all our students. The lessons are designed to provide students with appropriate activities and learning opportunities to develop skills such as self-management, social skills, and how to handle stress and anxiety. The goal is for all students to leave the elementary school counseling program with age appropriate understanding and the ability to handle personal and social issues that may arise.

Career & College Readiness

Lessons will focus on the readiness of our students for college and careers. The lessons are designed to broaden the student’s knowledge and ideas about college and careers through interactive and fun activities. In addition, the objectives will assist students to identify their interests, abilities, and skills related to post-secondary schools and career options. The goal is for all students to leave our elementary school counseling program with awareness of colleges, careers, understanding of employability skills and better knowledge on how their personal skills and interests coincide with post-secondary opportunities.
